General Information
AETA & CETA/ACTE were very excited to return to Canada in 2024! Below is a brief recap of the scientific and social highlights.
The Joint Convention Committee put together a program packed with excellent continuing education opportunities, fun social events, and an exhibit hall full of our trusted, returning industry partners and exciting new partners!
The scientific program kicked off on Thursday, October 17 with two pre-conference seminars. Pre-conference seminar one followed the same engaging break-out group format as 2023, aimed at discussing various scenarios that pertain to all aspects of IVF and conventional embryo production. Pre-conference seminar two was a small ruminant embryo transfer hands-on wet lab at the Toronto Royal Agricultural Fair Grounds hosted by Dr. Lynn Tait of OC Flock Management. Both pre-conferences were well attended and well received!
The general session was filled with engaging speakers who provided valuable research and practical discussion.
- Dr. Pedro Fontes: Utilization of Doppler Ultrasonography in Evaluating Recipient CL’s
- Dr. Sofia Ortega: Paternal Impacts of Embryo Development
- Dr. Paul Fricke: High Fertility Cycle and Body Condition Score Change and Reproduction
- Dr. Ruby Yoana Murcia Robayo: Student/Technician Session: OPU Demonstration and
Tips and Oocyte Searching and Grading with Demonstration and Practice Opportunities
- Dr. Jamie Stewart: Modified Live Vaccines and Cattle Fertility in ET Programs, and Biosecurity Consideration with Cooperator Herds

Thursday evening’s pre-conference social, sponsored by Vetoquinol, featured a private evening at the historic Hockey Hall of Fame, home to Stanley Cup.
Annual returning events included Thursday’s golf tournament, sponsored by Partnar Animal Health, Friday’s banquet with fantastic live entertainment from Sandy Vine and the Midnights, the poster session, practitioner tips, and the Student/Technician Session.
Thank you to everyone who made this meeting a success! We'll see you in Reno, NV from October 16-18, 2025.
